THE BIG FOUR
A personal note from Dennis & Angelina Girard
A few years ago we wrote a book, Marian Consecration for Little Souls, highlighting the three most known and popular images of Our Lady - Guadalupe, Fatima and Lourdes. Interestingly enough, and for personal reasons, we dedicated the book to Our Lady of the Cape.
Little did we know that as we came to discover the length and depth of Our Lady of the Cape's story, we would come to realize that she arguably should be included in the same conversation as her other three images.
One might ask why?
Her story spans hundreds of years and continues to this day.
She has been canonically crowned twice!
She has and continues to grant countless favours.
She is the Queen of the Most Holy Rosary and her story is the “Greatest Rosary Confraternity Story Ever Told!”
On September 10, 1984, Pope John Paul II celebrated an outdoor Mass at the Shrine of Our Lady of the Cape, and said: “This Marian pilgrimage is an immense grace accorded to the Canadian people. May the river of the prayerful never run dry here.” May all Canadians return to the recitation of the family Rosary, so that the Church in Canada will recover its splendor and vitality of the past!
